7 FESTIVAL HILOS DE LUZ.jpg

The Festival

What is the meaning of art in our time? What does contemporary academic music have to say to our society? How does it sound, who listens to it and why? These questions are inevitable when one travels for a certain time along the path of composition. The Young Composers International Festival (FIJC) seeks answers by exhibiting the works of young composers from the Americas.

At the FIJC there are no stylistic restrictions in the selection of works, we seek to promote the artist's way of feeling regardless of the aesthetics they use.  We consider that the material with which a work is constructed is not art in itself, neither is the technique, nor even the concept that inspired the artist, but rather the ideas and the way in which they are translated into a musical piece.

We are convinced that the essence of the human being who feels deeply is what must be exposed and presented to the world as something new. This is how this initiative came about. A platform free of prejudices where there are no restrictions on the works that can compete, thus generating music recitals with a wide and unique aesthetic diversity.
